A special project produced for
Special Olympics of Oregon
For the first time, TedX Portland reached out to the creative filmmaking community in the Rose City to assist with the Program & Run of Show. Filmmakers were chosen to create interstitial videos that were then played between talks and performances to refresh and energize the audience throughout the event — inspiring sound mind and sound body.
My film, “An Athlete” was chosen as one of the films, and featured a program run by the Special Olympics called Unified Sports. Travis Koski, an Oregon gold medalist athlete with SOOR provided the voice over and starred in the film.
The film received a standing ovation at the 2016 TedX Portland event.

Unified Sports is an inclusive sports program that unites Special Olympics athletes (individuals with intellectual disabilities) and partners (individuals without intellectual disabilities) as teammates for training and competition.
